Game Description Info :The plot of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mobile is connected with the plot of PC version, and it is adding its story. You are one of the stalkers who are in the Zone which emerged after the nuclear blast in the Ukrainian Chernobyl. There are happening strange things in this Zone and you are going to explore it and shoot your way through it. Prepare for abandoned factories, forests and military bases. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mobile includes the locations and characters known by PC version of the game.
3D engine of the game is perfect. The graphics is detailed; you can see places which look similar to places in the PC game. The game takes place in the buildings but also outside. It is really nice and the game has one of the best graphics in the genre of mobile FPS. You can see detailed displayed buildings, military cars on the car park, interiors of the buildings or your enemies. The only problem is that everything except your enemies is static. The game system of the game is as follows: you can choose on the main map the place where you would like to go. Then you will find yourself in this place. But you can’t move forward, backward or to the sides. You can only look around, you can turn in 180 degrees, you can look to the right, to the left, up or down. It is like using mouse for “mouse look” in the PC FPS games. If you want to move forward, you have to find the door or some kind of corridor, then press the “5” button and the games will turn from first-person sight to third-person sight and you will see your character moving to the pointed door or corridor. Then you will appear on the next screen. You can move to next screen only if you shoot all the enemies on the current screen. The enemies are hidden behind boxes, in the corners or behind other objects. They show themselves only for couple of seconds, they shoot on you and then they hide again. You have to shoot them before they hide. I have no reservations about the graphics of the game, it looks like 10 year old FPS on PC, it is fluent and full of details. Qplaze made excellent conversion of PC game graphics on the mobile phone screens.
The suspenseful melody will welcome you in the main menu of the game. You will hear the sounds of shooting and walking of your character during the game. There is difference in the sound of shooting from the different weapons, I appreciate it. But I think that developers could add also more sounds (for example the sound after killing of the enemy, after using a first aid kit, etc.). You will hear only two types of sounds (shooting and walking). It is very good feature in the field of mobile FPS.
The game is not only pure FPS; it has also the RPG elements. You gain experience points during the game. You can use them for accuracy, health or strength. There are only 10 character levels in the game. You will find various items during your adventure; you can have various types or armor, weapons, magazines, first aid kits and also some magical elements which will improve some of your characteristics. As you can see, there are included many features from PC version also in the mobile version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The game has interesting plot, you will talk with other characters, and you have opportunity to choose from several answers during the conversations with them. You can meet the characters in the camps or at the end of the levels. The characters will give you tasks and you will be rewarded with new weapon, armor or money after the accomplishment of the tasks. You can spend your money in the shop, you will have the possibility to buy or sell the items. The opportunities of the game are really rich. The plot of the game is interesting and it will motivate you in playing the game further. The gameplay of the game is not the best because of limited freedom of movement. Sometimes it is hard to find all the enemies on the screen. You realize that somebody is shooting at you, but you can't see who it is. There is also the problem to find out the exit to next screen or the problem with the orientation in the environment. I don't think that the on-rails FPS system of movement was the best idea for this game. It reduced the gameplay of the game. I see another problem in the length of the game. You can finish the game within 1 hour or maximally in 1 hour and half. You will gain good character level, you will collect interesting weapons and you would like to use them, but the game will suddenly end and you have no choice to play further, you have to begin from the beginning. Your game progress will be saved only in the camps after finishing of certain tasks -levels. I think that there could be at least two saving slots.
The expectations on this game were very big. It should be the revolution in the mobile FPS and the candidate for the best game of year 2007. I have to say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mobile is very good game, but not all the expectations were fulfilled. The game has excellent graphics reminding the graphics of PC version, sounds have also high quality, and the plot of the game is interesting and will motivate you in the playing the game. The game includes also many features of the PC version, it provides RPG system, talking with other characters, collecting and trading items. The biggest disappointment is on-rails moving system and the short length of the game. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mobile should be the best FPS mobile game. The game has high quality, it is FPS, but there is always word “but”. It is not real FPS with all its characteristics, you can't move freely. Each of the previous mobile FPS games has its “but”: Doom RPG and Orcs and Elves has turned-based combat system, Urban Attack was also on-rails FPS, there was no saving option in Alpha Zone 3D or Covert Ops 3D, or missing sounds in other mobile FPS games. The fans of mobile game FPS must further wait for the king of this genre, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mobile had good preconditions, but there is still something missing to become the real FPS mobile hit.
